REQUIRES HIGH SPEED LOW DRAG
November 14th, 1985
It's been twenty years since Ia Drang. Twenty years since I jumped out that helicopter and took a round in the knee. The docs fixed me up good, but it still aches when it rains. Guess I shouldn't have settled in Washington. It's always fucking raining up here.
Me and a few of my old airborne buddies have been running with the local Hell's Angels. They've always got work if you're good in a fight. Most of them are punks, but the money's good. I don't know if I'll stick around long enough to get my patch, but it's better than sitting around at the VA swapping war stories.
Maybe I'll get enough together to fix my house up and take a trip to see Dolores and the kids. Haven't seen them since she kicked me out. I've been clean for a while now, so maybe I've got a chance at putting things right.
A diary entry written by Barrett Morgan, Silver Star recepient, presented as evidence at his trial for drug trafficking.
High Speed Low Drag covers a soldier's military career from enlistment through to death or retirement. Long in the Tooth picks up after retirement, following your character back into civilian life, as they attempt to find purpose after the horrors of war.
You might use your experience to get a lucrative private security gig, or to champion a cause dear to your heart.
Your soldier might try to escape the horrors of the battlefield, building a comfortable life, until a familiar face at the bottom of your garden drags you back into the mud and blood.
The game supplement also includes two new quickstart guides - one for a gritty, military science-fiction setting in the vein of the Expanse, and another for First World War trench raiders.
The expanded material is brought into play with a roll on the updated Retirement Stage Table, or after your soldier is dishonourably discharged.
Play continues in the same vein as in the base game, with the addition of 8 new stages and two new suits of events. You can also use your newly-acquired monetary wealth to help improve your odds of survival. Instead of receiving promotions, your soldier ticks a clock that tracks their physical age and condition, allowing you to keep pushing until you’re too old to go into action.
